Our Reconciliation strategy

We will focus on four core areas for executing our Reconciliation strategy:

  1. Building Pathways: At IAG we will work with Indigenous organisations and communities to create employment and education opportunities which will empower future generations and close the gap that exists between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the broader Australian community.
  2. Celebrating Culture: We have much to learn from the world’s oldest surviving civilisation. At IAG, we will celebrate the unique culture of our Indigenous people and educate our employees and our communities about the invaluable contributions that they make to our society.
  3. Resilient Businesses and Communities: IAG is acknowledged as a leader in risk and is aiming to increase the resilience of our communities. Our RAP, formalises this commitment to our Indigenous communities and businesses. We will also learn from the resilience and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the hope of sharing their knowledge and inventiveness to build a stronger, safer and more confident Australia.
  4. Risk Mitigation: we will support initiatives that increase the capacity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities to overcome insurance related events.
